MUSIC AND THE ARTS

The Chancel Choir
The Chancel Choir provides a variety of quality music that enhances the worship experience at Hope and provides a path for both choir members and congregation to a more harmonious relationship with God. It is a joy to be able to use our very own instruments -our voices - to praise and worship God and share with our congregation music which the Holy Spirit has inspired. The choir takes pride in providing choral music to add to and enhance the worship service "theme of the day" and its flexibility of style in doing so.

The choir alternates between the 8:30 and 10:45 am worship services.  We rehearse in our beautiful sanctuary Thursday nights from 7:30-9:00. New members are always welcome.  May we always "Praise the Lord, for it is good to sing praises to our God"  Psalm 147.

Youth Music Ministries
The youth choir, View the Day, usually rehearses on Sunday afternoons from 4:30-5:30. Youth of all abilities in grades 6-12 are invited to join in the music.

Chancel Bells
Our Adult Chancel Bell Choir participates in worship services with instrumentalists from the congregation. Our playing experiences help to increase the technical musicianship of the choir as well as bring the beauty of Christ-inspired music to the world. Our constant goal is to continue playing inspirational music for our congregation and deliver the message of God's love though music in our community.

Children's Music Ministries
Our children's choir, Village Voices, rehearse Sundays mornings from 9:45 to 10:30am, and features children from grades K - 5.  We have a preschool choir that rehearses and performs for special holiday events.  Our children's choir directors use an endless variety of activities that entertain as well as teach kids about music. Come, bring friends and make a joyful noise with us!

The Visual Arts
The Visual Arts Team was created to visually enhance the faith experience of all who enter Hope UMC and to stimulate the use of various art forms in Christian education, worship and other programmatic events. The mission of Visual Arts Ministry is to coordinate and oversee the selection, acquisition and exhibition of visual arts to support the values, vision and mission of HUMC.
