CHILDREN’S MINISTRIES
Hope United Methodist Church offers children's education and ministry in a fun-filled, Christian environment. The materials are geared for the age of the children in the classroom and feature Bible stories, crafts, music and other activities.
Sunday School is held at 10:45. This is a key time when the basics of Christian faith are taught. Our teachers, workers, education team and staff place strong emphasis on having a Sunday School program that will help children make new friends and learn more about God with hands-on Bible learning in a fun environment.
Nursery Care is provided on Sunday mornings from 8:15 am until Noon for infants and toddlers by professional and qualified caregivers. No reservations are required.
Nursery care is also available for all other church events as needed. Call Child Care Coordinator, Donna Tramontano at 720-933-0540 five days in advance to reserve child care for other daytime and evening events.
Children's Moments are short object lessons on the Bible or Christian life shared during the first part of the worship service, after which the children are dismissed to their own Church School classes at 10:45 am.
Vacation Bible School is designed to acquaint children with the major Bible stories that underscore the Christian faith, as well as the customs and lifestyles of the Biblical world. VBS meets daily for a week in June.
Bibles are presented to all Third Graders in the fall, followed by a 'Bible Beginnings' workshop. Hope church wants to encourage a lifetime of reading enjoyment and learning from this special book.
Children’s Choirs meet Sunday mornings during the school year at 9:45. Come make a joyful noise with us! There are children choirs for kids from three years through fifth grade. Our children’s choir directors use an endless variety of activities that entertain as well as teach kids about music.
Glory Ringers Handbell Choir designed for third through fifth graders, meets on Sundays during the school year from 5:30-6:15 pm. This group plays for worship several times throughout the year. Bring your children so they can learn how to ring. They will love it!
Acolytes are children in third through sixth grades who have the opportunity to serve God and our church by lighting the altar candles each Sunday during the 8:30 and 10:45 am services. Contact the church office to arrange to have your child attend the next Acolyte training session.
Children's Worship Preparation is offered to older elementary children to help them learn all aspects of worship.
Special Programming Events are offered throughout the year to our children. Seasonal programs at Christmas and Easter are always fun and exciting.
Seasonal Special Events hosted by the Children’s Ministry just for kids include Trunk or Treat in October, and an enormous Easter Egg Hunt. Special summer activities include Vacation Bible School, and many trips and activities.

Our Children... are one of our most valuable assets. Suffer the little children to come unto me and forbid them not, for of such is the kingdom of God. Verily, I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child, he shall not enter therein. And he took them up in his arms, put his hands upon them, and blessed them. Mark 10:14-16.
